Done Deal? Real Madrid Begin Sale Of Gareth Bale Jerseys

Gareth Bale’s record-breaking transfer to Real Madrid may just be a matter of time as Tottenham officials are in Spain for talks and Real Madrid have even begun selling Bale jerseys.WalesOnline reports that Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid looks to have moved a step closer with Spurs’ sporting director Franco Baldini understood to have travelled to the Spanish capital to try to close the deal.

Baldini is reportedly continuing negotiations with Roma over Erik Lamela and Miralem Pjanic.

There is thought to be uncertainty over whether the Bale deal will involve a Madrid player moving in addition to a fee, with Fabio Coentrao having been mooted as a possibility.

If Real Madrid’s official website is to be believed, he’ll be squad number 11.

The official Real Madrid online store is listing Gareth Bale shirts as being on sale.

Clicking on the ‘shop by player’ option on Real Madrid’s website lists the names of players you can get printed on the back of your replica shirt.

Underneath the top player, Ozil, number 10, is a certain Welsh wonder by the name of Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid’s website lists just one product as being associated with Gareth Bale, compared to eight products for Ozil.

It could be the clearest indication yet that Gareth Bale is off to Real Madrid, and comes just a few days after Real Madrid shirts appeared for sale in shops in Gibraltar with Bale’s name printed on the back.

But Madrid based newspaper Marca today says negotiations are stalling and are not expected to be completed until next week as Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas is not keen on the Portuguese full back being part of the Bale deal.

The White Hart Lane club insist they want £100m for the Cardiff born star but sources in Spain say the Galacticos are confident of landing the 24-year-old on a five year deal.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas insists that neither Lamela or Coentrao have signed for the London club, but a £30m deal for front runner Willian is expected to be finalised by the weekend.

Spurs are believed not to want the Bale saga to drag on until the final day of the transfer window, which shuts on September 2.
